Bukayo Saka breaks Premier League penalty record in Man United win

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has set a new Premier League penalty record with his goal from the spot in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

Eddie Nketiah scored from an offside position in an odd turn of events, but play was resumed when Alex Telles felled Saka in the area.

The 20-year-old stepped up to score the spot-kick only a few days after netting from 12 yards against Chelsea, thereby ending his penalty worries for Euro 2020.

Saka became the youngest player in Premier League history to score consecutive penalties in back-to-back games at the age of 20 years and 230 days.

Nuno Tavares and Granit Xhaka both scored for the Gunners, who benefited from Bruno Fernandes’ miss of his own penalty following Cristiano Ronaldo’s comeback.

Arsenal have temporarily regained their place in the Premier League’s top four, ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Brentford later on Saturday.
