Spanish giants Barcelona have, on Friday, provided an update on the fitness of key defender Ronald Araujo.
For those not aware, Uruguayan international Araujo was forced into an early departure from proceedings just shy of 24 hours ago, when Barca made the trip to Anoeta for a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
Amid a remarkable sequence which saw all of the 23-year-old, Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Dani Alves pull up with problems, Araujo was replaced by Eric Garcia early in the 2nd-half.

Fears, in turn, had since spread over the gifted defender’s wellbeing, ahead of the Blaugrana’s swift return to La Liga action this weekend.
As alluded to above, though, Barcelona have since unveiled an update on Araujo’s wellbeing. And the news has proven of an altogether positive nature.
As per an official announcement across the club’s social media platforms:
”The tests carried out today on the first team player Ronald Araujo have ruled out an injury to his right knee.”

Auba makes the difference
Turning attentions back towards the eventual outcome on Thursday night, Xavi Hernandez’s visitors, when all was said and done, returned to winning ways courtesy of a hard-fought 1-0 result.
Despite looking some way short of their best once more, a solitary goal netted by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ultimately proved enough to put a wasteful Rayo outfit to the sword:
