UEL: Kwabena Owusu scores first as Qarabag beat Olympiacos away

Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu hit one of the goals as FK Qarabag eased to a comfortable 3-0 win away to Olympiacos on match-day three of the 2022/23 Uefa Europa League group stage Thursday night.

Back in front of their home fans at the Karaiskakis Stadium, the Greek giants were looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing their last match 3-0 to SC Freiburg while Qarabag were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against Nantes.

After a goalless first half, Qarabag continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded in the 68th minute when Owusu broke the deadlock with a right-footed shot from inside the box.

The momentum was again with Qarabag, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Marko Vesovic in the 82nd minute to establish a 2-0 lead.

However, the Azerbaijani champions weren’t finished yet and Ramil Sheydaev made it 3-0 in the 86th minute to give a final score of 3-0.

Kwabena Owusu has scored in back-to-back group games after doing the same against Nantes on match-day 2.

FK Qarabag are second in Group G with 6 points.
