Ghana Premier League new entrants Tamale City have sacked defender Emmanuel Kotie, with immediate effect, from the club for showing “gross insubordination.”
It comes in less than 24 hours when Kotei was shown red in City’s defeat by Legon Cities.
It is unclear if his sending off was the cause of the sack as it is believed there is an underlying issue.
In a statement released by the club, the 22-year-old’s attitude is described as “bad and had the tendency of breaking the team down.”
“It is a well-known fact that you served the club with all your heart in the previous years and we sincerely appreciate that, but your behavior this time is also clear that you want to break the team. We are therefore sorry to inform you that your services are no more needed the club and you are by this letter dismissed from the club” the statement reads.
