After touching messages of affection from his teammates, his compatriots, his club and other personalities in the world of football, Vinicius Jr himself came out of silence on the recent debates he “sparked following his celebration, where he dances after scoring but also about the racism he suffered. On social networks, the Brazilian international sent a strong message:

“As long as the color of the skin is more important than the luminosity of the eyes, there will be war.” I have this phrase tattooed on my body. I have this thought constantly in my head. This is the attitude and the philosophy that I try to put into practice in my life. They say that happiness disturbs. The happiness of a black Brazilian winner in Europe disturbs much more. But my desire to win, my smile and the sparkle in my eyes are much bigger than that. You can’t even imagine it. I have been the victim of xenophobia and racism in one statement. But none of this started yesterday. Weeks ago they started criminalizing my dancing. Dances that are not mine. They belong to Ronaldinho, Neymar, Paquetá, Griezmann, João Félix, Matheus Cunha… they belong to Brazilian funk and samba artists, reggaeton singers and black Americans. These are dances to celebrate the cultural diversity of the world. Accept it, respect it. I will not stop. I come from a country where poverty is very high, where people have no access to education… and in many cases, no food on the table! I don’t usually come out publicly to refute critics. They attack me and I don’t speak. They praise me and I don’t talk either. I work! Work hard. On and off the pitch. I developed an application to help with the education of children in public schools without financial assistance from anyone. I make a school in my name. I will do much more for education. I want the next generations to be prepared, like me, to fight against racists and xenophobes. I always try to be a professional and an exemplary citizen. But it doesn’t click, it’s not an internet trend, nor does it motivate cowards to talk aggressively about people they don’t even know. The script always ends with an apology and “I was misunderstood”. But I repeat it to you, racist: I will not stop dancing. Whether at the Sambadrome, the Bernabéu or elsewhere. With the love and smiles of someone who is very happy. Vini Jr.”

to summarize

After Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr also came out of silence on the controversy leading to his celebration. As a reminder, while he dances after scoring, it is not to everyone’s taste, who sees it as a “provocation”.
