The name “Ayew” is all about pressure – Jordan Ayew

Crystal Palace attacker Jordan Ayew enjoys playing under the pressure associated with the name, Ayew.

Jordan’s father is Ghana and Olympique Marseille legendary star Abedi Ayew Pele and is junior brother to Andre Dede Ayew.

The forward, who has been a key figure in Ghana’s national team, is a subject of criticism whenever results turn negative.

But as Jordan gears up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he asserts his love for pressure related to the name, Ayew.

“You have a lot of pressure in the country [Ghana] because the name Ayew is a big name.

“They have always seen very good Ayew players so there is always pressure to be on top,” he told Supersport.

“I was born in pressure and I’m still living in pressure so for me, it’s a daily thing. It’s part of life and I’m enjoying it and I’m so proud.”

Jordan Ayew has scored 29 goals in the Premier League, the highest figure attained by a Ghanaian.

Also, the forward has nettrd 19 goals for Ghana.
