Dennis Korsah, Ati-Zigi & SEVEN other players who have lost their places in Otto Addo’s team —

As many as nine players have been dropped from the Black Stars squad per the team that played in the 2024 AFCON qualifiers and the Kirin Cup in Japan in June.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo announced his squad on Tuesday morning with friendly games against Brazil and Nicaragua loading ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Definitely there has been casualties and up to 8 players have lost their places in the squad as Addo finalised on a 29-man squad list for the two games.

The biggest casualty is St Gallen goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi who has received massive public backlash in recent months and came in for blame after shipping 4 goals against Japan during the Kirin Cup in Japan.

Hearts of Oak defender Dennis Korsah who was also part of the Kirin Cup squad has also been dropped from the team.

Midfielder Edmund Addo has also lost his place along with Wakaso Mubarak who recently signed for Belgian top-flight side KAS Eupen.

German-based duo Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Okyere Kwasi Wriedt have also been dropped.

Jonathan Mensah, Andy Yiadom, and Abdul Mumin won’t be part of the squad for the two games.

Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey who recently completed his nationality switch from England has been handed a call-up alongside Athletic Club’s Inaki Williams who has played 237 La Liga games in a row since 2016.

Germany-based Stephan Ambrosius and Southampton’s Salisu Mohammed are all in the squad to face Brazil’s Selecao in Le Havre on September 23, 2022.
