Ibrahim Tanko names Kotoko’s Isaac Oppong and 26 others in Ghana U23 squad for 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers —

Ghana U23 head coach Ibrahim Tanko has invited 27 players to commence training ahead of the 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Meteors are currently on standby and will play the winner of the clash between Mauritius and Mozambique.

Tanko, a former Cameroon assistant coach at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, doesn’t want to play with time and has already released his squad following a comprehensive scouting on the local scene.

Asante Kotoko attacker Isaac Oppong is among the prominent names in the squad alongside Bechem United’s Clinton Duodu who was mysteriously dropped by the Ghana U20 technical team during the WAFU Zone B tournament in Niger.

Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is also in the squad for the game though he has been put on standby.

Below is the squad as released by the Ghana FA.
