Thomas Tuchel again paid Romelu Lukaku, after the semi-final played against Crystal Palace, in the FA Cup. The Chelsea manager does not think he is in good physical condition.
Faced with the media, Thomas Tuchel again attacked Romelu Lukaku, whom he thinks is not in good enough shape: “He was not physically ready for the intensity of an FA Cup semi-final. It’s not easy to approach such a match after an injury. He hasn’t had as many minutes recently as the other players, his physical condition is not quite there, otherwise there would have been a great chance to start today”explained the German technician.
“Wait, be patient, work hard…”
The Blues coach considers that the Belgian must be regular in the work: “He had a huge chance against Real Madrid and things can go really fast. No one knows what that goal would have done for us had he taken the chance with a header late in the game. That’s exactly what he has to do: wait, be patient, work hard and put the team first. Be ready to help the team, because as a striker you can help in seconds”he continued.
This season, Lukaku has netted 12 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions. His return to the Londoners does not seem to be a success for the moment.
