Kotoko made a record from gate proceeding against Etoile

Asante Kotoko made a record of GHS 653,000 (approx. $120,000) as gross gate proceeds from Sunday’s Caf Champions League home victory over Etoile du Sahel.

The porcupine warriors gain improvement on their last home game against Kano Pillars where they raised 509,000 in August.

A flat rate of GHS 20 was charged across the red, yellow and green stands of the Baba Yara Stadium while the  VIP stands went for GHS 50.

Executive chairman of Kotoko Dr. Kwame kyei Baffour revealed the measures placed that led to the record-breaking money drought issues in the club.

“I personally got involved in the redefinition of the tickets. So many racketeering has gone on within the past years and this time we didn’t want it to happen again. We issued out 36,000 tickets and accumulated $120,000.00 thus GH 650,000.00 as gross income.”
