Black Galaxies pip Benin’s Squirrels to secure progress to final round of qualification series —

Ghana’s Black Galaxies have sealed progress to the next stage of the 2023 CHAN qualification series after beating Benin 1-0 in the second-leg tie of the semi-final round of the qualifiers.

Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh left it late to snatch the match-winner for Annor Walker’s side in Benin‘s capital city Porto-Novoa.

Walker made just a single change to his assembly that recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over the same side last weekend at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Accra Lions midfielder Dominic Nsobila was introduced into the middle to work with Gladson Awako along with Kasim Razak and Evans Osei-Wusu.

Ghana will face off with Nigeria in the next stage of qualifiers slated for August 26-28 for the first leg and September 2-4 for the return fixture.

The winner of the two-legged tie will book a ticket to Algeria for the CHAN competition in 2023.
