Richarlison lists the 3 reasons why he chose to sign for Tottenham Hotspur


Richarlison has given his first interview as a Tottenham Hotspur player.

The Brazilian has revealed why it is a dream to sign for Spurs.

He also listed the three key factors as to why he is so excited to join the north London club.

“When the offer from Tottenham came I couldn’t believe it”

Richarlison has opened up on the moment in which he received the offer from Tottenham.

The 25-year-old was in his home country of Brazil when the proposal arrived.

He describes the opportunity to sign for his new club as “a dream”.

He told SpursOfficial:

“I remember when I was in Brazil and the offer from Tottenham came I couldn’t believe it, and after I signed the contract, even more so because it feels like a dream.

“When I arrived here it gave me a chill in my stomach.”

The former Everton man has also spoken about the opportunity he now has to work under Antonio Conte.

Richarlison has honoured the Italian as being “one of the best coaches in the world”.

He also mentioned how Carlo Ancelloti messaged him after he completed the move and what he said about Conte.

Richarlison said:

“He is one of the best coaches in the world, isn’t he?

“So it is a privilege to be here, to be coached by him.

“He is very good friends with Carlo Ancelotti, and Carlo congratulated me on the transfer and said Conte is a friend of his.

“I have everything to grow here working with him.”

Champions League dream

Most importantly, Richarlison will finally fulfil his ambition of playing in the Champions League.

The forward is yet to play in a UEFA competition as a player, but he will now play in the biggest of them all.

He reveals how he made the decision last year that now is the time to move to a Champions League club.

He added:

“Now I can be in the stadium, listening to that music.

“I always said it was my dream to play in the Champions League and now this dream will come true.

“Maybe I can cry because it will be a special moment.

“Until last year I was there on the sofa in my house watching the Champions League, and I said it was my time to play there.”
