Serge Gnabry contract talks with Bayern Munich stalls

Serge Gnabry’s contract talks at Bayern Munich have stalled with a chunk of clubs across Europe now keen on the German international.

German publication BILD reports that while the two parties agree on the number of years that the player should be handed, there is a problem in salary valuations as Gnabry feels he should be given more than what the club is offering.

The impasse has alerted Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur with the player said to be keen on returning to the Premier League after featuring for Arsenal in his earlier years; his current deal with Bayern is set to expire in 2023.

The 26-year-old was a key player for Bayern in the 2019/20 season where they completed a historic treble, destroying English opposition on the way to his side’s Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon.

Gnabry scored four goals in 7-2 humiliation of Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and later managed a brace at Stamford Bridge in the last-16.

The German international was signed by Arsenal in 2011 and given his professional debut by Arsene Wenger, but only amassed 18 appearances for the club before being loaned out to West Bromwich Albion where he failed to impress Tony Pulis.
