Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis a target for Villarreal

Laliga side Villarreal is interested in signing Watford FC striker Emmanuel Dennis in the summer.

The Nigerian is said to be open to a move should Watford be relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail says Dennis could depart Vicarage Road after just one season following his arrival from Club Brugge in the summer; the player having been an integral member of the Watford team as they try to stay afloat in the Engish top flight.

The 24-year has scored nine goals in his first campaign and according to the reports, there are many clubs around Europe who are circling for his signature including Villarreal.

Watford on the other hand will be willing to offload some of their senior players if they are relegated to the Championship as they want to reduce the wage bill in the English second tier.

Other big earners who are likely to be offloaded by the club include Ben Foster and Tom Cleverley.
