Former top scorer of Asante Kotoko, Kwame Opoku, has labelled himself as the next Jordan Ayew in the Black Stars.

The Algerian-based player striker is confident of making a mark in the senior national team.

The Ghana Football Association is determined to reinforce the Black Stars attacking line for the World Cup with the William brothers in Inaki, Nico and Chelsea’s Hudson Odoi close to switching nationality.

Opoku had received two invitations by former coach Charles Akonnor  and is yet to find the back of the net.

However, he is still unfazed about competing with foreign-based players for a spot in attack.

”I’m the next Jordan Ayew in the Black Stars squad. If I am fit, I will start ahead of Inaki Williams and other strikers,” the USM Algiers forward said in an interview with Accra based Atinka FM.

Ghana coach Otto Addo will hand call-ups to players for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September and for preparations towards the global championship in Qatar.

Opoku departed Ghana for Algeria for a fee of €600,000 last season.
