The Black Meteors will meet Libya at Benghazi International Stadium on Wednesday, November 11. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm local time, which is 5pm in Ghana.
Ghana will host the second leg at Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, November 17, giving the team the chance to complete the tie on home soil.
The aggregate winner will progress to the next qualifying round, where they will face either Equatorial Guinea or Niger. The contest is part of the ongoing qualification campaign for the 2027 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana were given a bye in the opening round of the three-stage qualifying competition. Seven nations are expected to join hosts Egypt in the eight-team continental tournament.
The tie also represents an important step in Ghana’s hopes of returning to the Olympic men’s football tournament. The country’s most recent appearance in that competition came at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Qualifying for the 2027 tournament would move Ghana closer to ending its 23-year absence from Olympic men’s football.
