Asante Kotoko remain without an away victory in the Ghana Premier League after conceding a 90th-minute goal in a 2-1 defeat by Berekum Chelsea.
Yussif Bayanalabe struck late to secure all three points for the hosts, completing a comeback after Kotoko had taken the lead in the second half.
The Porcupine Warriors went ahead in the 59th minute when Opoku was brought down inside the penalty area. The referee awarded a penalty and Inusah Adams converted, placing his effort calmly into the bottom-right corner.
Berekum Chelsea responded five minutes later through former Kotoko player Zakaria Fuseini, who brought the scores level in the 64th minute.
The home side then completed the turnaround in the final minute of normal time, with Bayanalabe scoring in the 90th minute to give Berekum Chelsea their second league victory of the season.
The result came after contrasting outcomes for both teams in their previous Ghana Premier League matches. Berekum Chelsea had been beaten 2-0 by Aduana FC at Dormaa, while Asante Kotoko drew 2-2 at home against Medeama SC.
Kotoko’s latest loss means they have now registered two defeats and three draws from their five away matches this season. They are still waiting for their first win on the road in the current campaign.
Their last away victory in the Ghana Premier League came on March 21, 2026.
The defeat leaves Asante Kotoko 10th in the league table with 13 points. Berekum Chelsea move up to ninth place on 14 points.
Asante Kotoko will attempt to respond in Week 11 when they host Gold Stars. Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, will travel to Swedru to face All Blacks.
