Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has included Hamza Abdulkarim in his squad for Sunday’s El Clasico against Real Madrid, with four players unavailable because of injury.
Dani Olmo, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen were all left out of the squad for the Spanish league’s 10th round of matches. The game will take place on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
Hamza Abdulkarim has been included among Barcelona’s attacking options for the meeting with Real Madrid. Barcelona announced the squad on its official account, describing it as the “convocatoria per al Classic”.
Barcelona are top of the league with 27 points, while Real Madrid are third on 21 points. Flick’s selection has therefore been shaped by both the absences in defence and the decision to add Abdulkarim to his attacking choices.
The complete Barcelona squad is:
Goalkeepers: Joan Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny and Dominik Livakovic.
Defenders: Joao Cancelo, Alejandro Balde, Pau Cubarsi, Xavi Espart, Gerard Martin and Alex Campos.
Midfielders: Brian Farinas, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, Pedri, Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, Bernal and Oriol Romeu.
Forwards: Gabriel Jesus, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ademola Lookman, Jordan and Hamza Abdulkarim.
The four injured absentees remove Dani Olmo, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen from consideration, leaving Flick with a squad that includes several younger options alongside established members of the first team.
The inclusion of Abdulkarim gives Barcelona another attacking option for one of the most significant fixtures of the season. He joins Gabriel Jesus, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ademola Lookman and Jordan in the forward group named by Flick.
Barcelona enter the match six points clear of Real Madrid in the table. Real Madrid’s position is third, with 21 points from their opening nine league games, while Barcelona have collected 27 points.
The fixture is the 10th-round meeting between the two sides, with Flick required to manage his squad without Olmo, Kounde, Garcia and Christensen because of their injuries.
