Abde Ezzalzouli was among the leading shooters in the third round of the UEFA Champions League league phase after helping Real Betis secure a 1-0 win over Azerbaijani side Sabah.
The Morocco international attempted eight shots at La Cartuja on Wednesday, matching the total recorded by Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy.
The victory was Real Betis’ third in the competition and Ezzalzouli’s performance placed him joint-top of the shooting standings for matchday three, according to statistics published by Squawka.
Guirassy reached the same figure during Dortmund’s 2-1 away victory against Sabah. The Guinea striker scored both of his side’s goals in that match, underlining his continued impact in the Champions League.
Emiliano Buendia of Aston Villa and Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay followed with seven shots each. Sporting CP forward Luis Suarez was next on six, while Donyell Malen, Fabian Ruiz, Alexis Mac Allister and Rayan Cherki each recorded five attempts.
Florian Wirtz completed the top 10 with four shots during the round.
Guirassy’s two goals also extended a notable Champions League record. Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, no player has scored more two-goal matches in the competition than the Dortmund forward, who has now achieved that feat twice.
Squawka highlighted the comparison between the two players in a post published on 22 October 2026, noting that Ezzalzouli and Guirassy had shared the most shots during matchday three, while Guirassy had also scored twice.
