According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Pusic responded immediately by calling Al-Ahli’s players in for an evening session on Thursday. The workout will serve as the team’s final preparation for the rearranged match.
The Dutch coach had already overseen what was intended to be the final training session on Wednesday. The postponement means that session will be repeated, with Pusic concerned that the players’ physical condition could be affected if they did not train on Thursday.
Al-Ahli are currently fifth in the Saudi league table with 18 points. They trail leaders Al-Qadsiah by seven points, although Al-Ahli have played one match fewer.
