Ghana forward Andre Ayew says he is negotiating with two or three clubs as he considers the next stage of his professional career.
The former Black Stars captain has not revealed the identities of the teams involved, but says he expects to decide his future soon after carefully considering the options available to him.
“I’m negotiating with two or three clubs. I’ll choose the best option for me and my family and make a decision pretty soon.”
Ayew, 36, has made his personal interests and his family’s well-being central to the decision. His comments indicate that he is weighing more than the sporting opportunity before committing to a new club.
The forward has enjoyed a long career across France, England, Turkey and other football destinations, becoming one of Ghana’s most experienced players.
He began his professional career with Olympique de Marseille and established himself as an important first-team player before moving to the English Premier League with Swansea City.
During his time at Swansea City, Ayew earned recognition for his versatility in attack, work rate and ability to influence important matches. He subsequently played for West Ham United and Nottingham Forest, among other clubs.
At international level, Ayew has been a prominent figure for Ghana for many years. He has captained the Black Stars and represented the country at multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and FIFA World Cups.
The forward is the son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele. His experience and leadership, alongside his understanding of the demands of elite football, could appeal to clubs looking for an established attacking player.
However, no agreement has yet been announced, and Ayew’s next destination remains unknown. He appears to be taking time to identify the right sporting and personal arrangement rather than committing to the first opportunity available.
His decision will bring an extended period of uncertainty to an end for Ghanaian supporters, who are waiting to discover where the veteran forward will continue his career.
For now, negotiations remain ongoing with two or three clubs, while Ayew considers which proposal best suits him and his family.
