Ghana head coach Nana Joe Adarkwa has selected a 21-player squad for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco, where the Black Maidens will return to the competition after missing the last three editions.
The squad includes three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders and five forwards, with Ghana drawn in Group C alongside Norway, Brazil and Canada.
Belinda Maku Aklie, Rahima A. Napari and Josephine Nyanufule are the three goalkeepers named by Adarkwa.
The defensive options are Matilda A. B. Amoah, Hajara Adam, Latifa Musah, Mavis Koah, Rafia Osman, Juliana Gyekyewaa and Seraphina E. Esse.
Ghana’s midfield group consists of Belinda Kpentey, Christiana Ashiaku, Benedicta D. Nkietah, Seidatu Wahab, Zeinab Shani and Sekinatu Amadu.
The five forwards selected are Priscilla Mensah, Linda Achiaa, Jessica A. Asamoah, Cynthia Obinsrewuo and Gloria A. Adomako.
The players will represent Ghana on the international stage as the Black Maidens look to make a strong impression against some of the leading young women’s teams in world football.
Ghana booked their place at the tournament after beating Senegal 7-6 on penalties in the final qualifying tie. The decisive second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium finished 1-1 before Ghana prevailed in the shootout.
That result secured Ghana’s first appearance at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup since missing the previous three tournaments.
Their group-stage campaign will see them face Norway, Brazil and Canada in what promises to be a demanding test for the West African side.
The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to take place in Morocco from October 17 to November 7.
With the squad now confirmed, Adarkwa and his technical team will turn their attention to preparations for the tournament, with Ghana aiming to compete strongly and advance as far as possible.
