2015 AFCON: Algeria coach upbeat against Ghana despite injury worries

Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff is upbeat about his team’s chances against Ghana despite injury concerns.

The Desert Foxes will decide whether to field striker Islam Slimani on Thursday while key defender Rafik Halliche is likely to miss out after being rushed to the hospital.

Mehdi Zaman is also another injury doubt, raising fears a depleted side could fall against the Black Stars.

But coach Christian Gourcuff insists there is no cause for alarm.

“At the moment it’s going well because there is no serious injuries, There are Mehdi Zaman, who took a hit on the toe, but there are no major worries,: he said

“For Islam, this is not a major concern, he took a blow on the knee but it is not serious. It is still a little early to project themselves on the match.
