Sadio Mane’s staggering wage demands to remain at Liverpool revealed

Sadio Mane’s staggering wage demands to remain at Liverpool revealed

An insight into the financial demands set out by Sadio Mane in his final round of contract negotiations with Liverpool has been provided on Monday.

Senegalese international Mane, of course, has seen his name take centre stage in the headlines across the last couple of weeks.

This comes with the 30-year-old, fresh off suffering heartbreak in both the Premier League and Champions League, widely reported to have made his intentions to seek out pastures new in the summer known to those in a position of power on the red half of Merseyside.

German champions Bayern Munich, meanwhile, are the early frontrunners to seal a deal for Mane, with the Bavarians on the lookout for attacking reinforcements ahead of the predicted sales of both Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski.

Not only that, but it is understood that the transfer team at the Allianz Arena have already gone as far as to table a pair of offers for the explosive wide-man.

Both, however, were knocked back without a 2nd thought.

With Liverpool having since swooped decisively to bring in Darwin Nunez from Benfica, though, Mane’s exit nevertheless remains viewed as a case of when, rather than if.

And now, as alluded to above, an insight into one of the key reasons behind the decision of Klopp and co. to sanction the sale of such a key player has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of David Maddock of The Mirror, who has revealed the financial demands laid out by Mane as part of the 30-year-old’s most recent round of contract negotiations with Liverpool.

It is understood that Mane requested pay parity with the Premier League’s current top earners, to the tune of around £400,000-per-week.

Such a figure, spread out over the course of a four-year deal, would have set the Anfield hierarchy back an eye-watering figure in the region of £83 million.
