FIFA has closed disciplinary proceedings against Ghana Premier League side Karela United FC and permanently lifted the club’s ban on registering new players after it settled all outstanding financial obligations to creditor Sana Camara.
The decision was confirmed in correspondence filed through the FIFA Legal Portal in relation to case FPSD-23160. FIFA said it had received confirmation that Camara had been paid the full amount due under the ruling issued in the case.
With the financial dispute resolved, the world governing body has formally ended the proceedings against Karela United FC. The club is now clear to register new players in connection with the matter involving Camara.
FIFA has also instructed the Ghana Football Association to remove the corresponding registration ban imposed on Karela United FC at national level. That direction means the restriction linked to the dispute must be lifted by both FIFA and the national football authorities.
The ruling provides relief for Karela United FC after the club fulfilled its obligations to the creditor. It removes the registration restriction that had been imposed as a consequence of the unresolved case and allows the club to proceed with new-player registrations in relation to that matter.
However, FIFA has made clear that the decision is limited to the dispute involving Camara. The closure of the proceedings does not cancel, alter or affect any separate registration ban that may currently apply to Karela United FC because of other cases.
The club’s registration position must therefore be considered on a case-by-case basis. While the ban connected to case FPSD-23160 has been permanently lifted, any restrictions arising from separate matters would remain unaffected by FIFA’s latest decision.
The order specifically confirms that the creditor has received the amounts required under the original decision. FIFA’s action follows that confirmation and brings the disciplinary process connected to the Sana Camara case to an end.
Karela United FC can consequently register new players in relation to the resolved dispute, having settled the outstanding sums owed to Camara. FIFA’s instruction to the Ghana Football Association ensures that the national-level restriction linked to the same case is also removed.
