Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies will face ASEC Mimosas, Edo Queens FC and AS Garde Nationale in the group stage of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers after the official WAFU B draw was completed.

The Techiman-based club was placed in Group B, which brings together teams from Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Niger and Ghana. Ampem Darkoa will therefore have to negotiate a demanding group if they are to progress to the final round of qualifying for the continent’s leading women’s club competition.

ASEC Mimosas provide the opposition from Cote d’Ivoire, while Nigeria are represented by Edo Queens FC. AS Garde Nationale complete the confirmed line-up from Niger.

The draw has revealed the route Ampem Darkoa must take as they attempt to build on their status as one of Ghana’s premier women’s football clubs. Their objective will be to finish top of Group B and secure advancement to the next stage of the qualifying competition.

Group A consists of USFA of Burkina Faso, Dynamique FC de Calavi of Benin and Association Sportive de la Kozah of Togo. The fourth position in that group has not yet been confirmed.

The WAFU B qualifying competition serves as the route into the final round of the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. Only the winners of each group will move forward to that phase, increasing the importance of every match in the opening stage.

Ampem Darkoa will be hoping their experience as Ghanaian champions can help them overcome the challenge presented by a group featuring opposition from three other countries. Their campaign will begin with the club seeking to establish itself among the leading sides in the regional competition and keep alive its ambition of reaching the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The draw gives the Techiman-based side a clear picture of the task ahead. A strong group-stage performance will be required to finish above ASEC Mimosas, Edo Queens FC and AS Garde Nationale, with only the group winner guaranteed progression.

For Ampem Darkoa, the competition offers another opportunity to represent Ghana on the continental stage. The club’s place in Group B confirms the opponents standing between them and the final qualifying round, while Group A remains incomplete until its final participant is known.
