Al Nassr vice-president Khalid Al-Malik has called on supporters to remain behind the club, insisting the difficulties surrounding the Saudi side will be resolved soon as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
Al Nassr have yet to complete a signing during the current summer transfer window, despite reaching an agreement with Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa, who plays for Mallorca. The club remain subject to financial restrictions, limiting their ability to strengthen the squad before the new campaign begins.
Writing on his personal account on X, Al-Malik told supporters: “Our dear fans, the difficulties will be resolved soon, God willing.”
He acknowledged the pressure and continued speculation surrounding the club but said preparations for the opening competitive fixture must remain the priority.
“However much the pressure and talk increase, our focus remains in the right place,” he added. “Your club is preparing for its first official match in less than a week, and that deserves all our energy and attention.”
Al Nassr will begin their Roshn Saudi League campaign against Al Fateh on Saturday, 15 August. The match will be the club’s first competitive test of the new season and comes with uncertainty still surrounding their transfer plans.
Al-Malik also appealed to supporters to attend matches and provide vocal backing throughout the campaign.
“We invite you all to stand behind the team through your attendance, support and encouragement, as you have always done in good times and difficult times,” he said. “Together we move forward, and together we will win, God willing.”
The message came as Al Nassr seek to build on a notable domestic achievement from last season. The club are aiming to retain the Saudi league title, which they won last term after a seven-year wait.
They will also pursue a first-ever AFC Champions League Elite title. Success in that competition would represent a landmark achievement in the club’s history, but the squad’s lack of incoming transfers has added to the attention surrounding their preparations.
Although Al Nassr have agreed terms with Samu Costa, no new player has yet been completed during the current summer window. The financial restrictions imposed on the club remain a major obstacle, leaving Al-Malik to reassure fans that the problems can be addressed while urging them to focus on supporting the team when the season starts.
