The Ghana Scholarships Authority has begun interviewing applicants for its 2026/2027 Academic Year Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme.
The exercise is scheduled to run until Monday, 18 August 2026, at designated local assemblies across Ghana.
Applicants have been told to check their application portals regularly for updates and to attend their assigned interview venues on the specified dates and times. They must also bring all required documents, which will be used during the verification and assessment process.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Ghana Scholarships Authority urged applicants to follow the instructions provided for the interviews and to ensure they arrive at the correct location at the appointed time.
“The authority encourages all shortlisted applicants to adhere strictly to the interview guidelines and wishes them success throughout the process,” it said.
The interview exercise forms part of the selection process for the authority’s Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year. Applicants are expected to use their individual application portals as the main source of updates about their interview arrangements.
The Ghana Scholarships Authority also stressed that every stage of the scholarship process is free of charge. It said no third party had been authorised or contracted to help applicants in return for payment.
The authority warned applicants against paying anyone who claims to be collecting money on its behalf or offering assistance with the application or interview process.
It called for reports of any person or persons purporting to collect fees from applicants. Such reports should be made directly to the Ghana Scholarships Authority on 0302962928 so that immediate action can be taken.
Applicants have therefore been asked to rely on official communication from the authority, monitor their portals for changes or further instructions, and attend their allocated venues with the documents required for verification and assessment.
The interviews are taking place across designated local assemblies throughout the country, rather than at a single national venue. The process is expected to continue through 18 August, giving shortlisted applicants a fixed period in which to complete the required assessment.
The authority’s warning comes as applicants progress through the scholarship process for the new academic year. Its message combines practical instructions about attendance and documentation with a reminder that applicants should not pay intermediaries.
