FC Nordsjaelland trio Maxwell Woledzi, Francis Abu, and Emmanuel Ogura have received emergency invitations to join the Black Stars camp in Japan ahead of the 2022 Kirin Soccer Cup.

This comes after majority of players who were expected to make the trip to the Asian country for the tournament have pulled out due to injuries, illness, COVID-19 amongst others.

As a result, Ghana have only 18 players left in camp who are preparing for the four-nation international friendly tournament which kicks off on Friday, June 10, 2022.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited three young players from the Danish Superliga side to augment the squad.

Woledzi and Abu joined the Danish club from Right to Dream Academy in 2019.

Abu, 21 had a decent season with Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga this season having made 16 appearances.

Woledzi, who plays as a central defender has been impressive with his performances over the years and has been linked with a summer transfer to Portuguese top-flight club Vitória Guimarães.

Ogura is a goalkeeper who has also caught a lot of attention after joining Nordsjaelland from Right to Dream Academy.

The 20-year-old became the youngest Ghanaian goalkeeper to feature in a competitive game for a European club in September 2021.
