Jordan Ayew hit the 19th international goal mark with a spectacular strike for Ghana against Japan on Friday.
The forward, 30, achieved the feat at Noevir Stadium in Kobe as the Black Stars fell to the Samurai Blue 4-1 in the 2022 Kirin Cup Soccer invitational tournament.

The strike saw him equal the record held by his father Abedi Ayew Pelé and Osei Kofi in the ranking of Ghana’s all-time scorers. The trio now place 8th in the ranking order.
Jordan – who had not scored since March 2021 – needed 80 international outings to match his father who did that with 73 games.
He made his senior bow for Ghana aged 18 years 11 months 25 days on September 5, 2010 coming on as a second-half substitute for big brother Andre Ayew in a 3-0 Afcon qualifying victory away to eSwatini (then Swaziland).
Jordan had to wait until June 1, 2012 to open his international goals with a brace in a 7-0 hammering of Lesotho in a 2014 World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Legendary Asamoah Gyan holds the Ghana record for international goals with a tally of 51.
