FA Cup Quarter final Referees Revealed

The Ghana Football Association has officially unveiled the match officials who will take charge of the quarter-final fixtures in the MTN FA Cup, setting the stage for what promises to be a dramatic weekend of knockout football.

With a place in the semi-finals at stake, the announcement has intensified anticipation around the country as clubs prepare for decisive battles that could shape their seasons.

The quarter-final ties will be played across two venues — the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Techiman and the Cape Coast Stadium — on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Four intriguing clashes are lined up, featuring a mix of Premier League heavyweights and ambitious challengers eager to shake up the competition.

Among the standout narratives heading into the quarter-finals is the presence of former champions Medeama SC and Dreams FC, both of whom will be determined to continue their push toward another FA Cup triumph.

However, the road to the last four will be anything but straightforward.

Both teams face opponents who have proven they are capable of upsetting the established order.

Last season’s semi-finalists Attram De Visser and Heart of Lions are also still in contention and will be looking to go one step further this year.

The opening quarter-final will take place on Saturday in Techiman, where Aduana FC will lock horns with Division One side Techiman Liberty Youth.

Despite the difference in league status, Aduana know better than to underestimate their opponents.

The magic of the FA Cup has long been built on giant-killing moments, and Liberty Youth will arrive determined to produce one of the biggest shocks of the tournament.

For that clash, the GFA has appointed Juliet Appiah as the centre referee.

She will be assisted by Alice Farizua Chakule and Patricia Kyeraa, with Barikisu Salifu serving as the fourth official.

The match commissioner for the fixture will be Ayoo Luke.

Attention will then shift to Sunday’s fixtures, beginning again in Techiman where Nations FC will face Berekum Chelsea in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.

Both teams see the FA Cup as a realistic pathway to silverware this season, and the stakes could hardly be higher.

The responsibility of officiating that clash falls to Julian Nunoo, assisted by Seth Abletor and Richard Nartey.

Rita Boateng Nkansah has been named as the fourth official, while Richard Iddrisu will serve as match commissioner.

Meanwhile, attention will turn to the historic Cape Coast Stadium where two more mouth-watering quarter-final battles will unfold.

First, Dreams FC will meet Heart of Lions in a clash between two sides who know each other well from their encounters in the Ghana Premier League.

Their recent league meetings have produced contrasting results, adding another layer of intrigue to the knockout encounter.

The referee assigned to that fixture is Charles Bulu, who will be assisted by Roland Addy and Theophilus Akugre.

Franklin Akumatey will act as the fourth official, with James Odoom serving as match commissioner.

The final quarter-final fixture will see Attram De Visser take on Medeama SC in what could be one of the most explosive matches of the round.

Attram De Visser, known for their fearless approach, will attempt to derail the ambitions of the experienced Medeama side, who are determined to add another FA Cup title to their history.

For that clash, Selorm Yao Bless will take charge as centre referee.

He will be assisted by Gabriel Boateng and Joshua Agbo, while Reginald Collins Amoah will serve as the fourth official.

The match commissioner for the game will be Alexander Agyemang Duah.

With experienced referees assigned to each fixture, the GFA hopes to ensure that the matches are conducted fairly and smoothly as the competition approaches its decisive stages.

For the clubs involved, the equation is simple: win and move one step closer to FA Cup glory — lose and the dream ends instantly.

As kickoff approaches, fans across the country are bracing for a weekend packed with tension, passion, and the unpredictable drama that only knockout football can deliver.
