Interim coach Yaw Prince Owusu has refused to be drawn on his long-term role at Asante Kotoko following their 2-0 victory over Young Apostles.
The Porcupine Warriors secured the important away win in Wenchi on Matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
Owusu described the result as a key step in their effort to climb the table.
“Yeah, we’re trying to close the gap, little by little, game after game.
“But this was the first one where we said, no, we don’t have to lose this game. We have to win, and then get prepared for the next game as well. If we get that one, it means we are getting closer to it.”
The coach believes the three points will strengthen confidence within the squad.
However, he avoided giving clarity on whether he hopes to stay in charge beyond his interim spell.
“No, that’s up to when the time comes. I cannot decide right now.”
Attention now shifts to their next league assignment against Vision FC as they continue pushing for a strong finish.
