Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has raised the stakes ahead of his side’s MTN FA Cup Round of 16 meeting with Aduana FC.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the tie looking to bounce back from a bruising 3–1 league loss to Heart of Lions in Kpando.
That setback has sharpened focus within the Kotoko camp as attention temporarily shifts from the league to knockout football.
Zito insists the FA Cup offers a clear opportunity to keep the season on track.
The experienced trainer has made no secret of his desire to end the campaign with silverware.
“Definitely, we have to win that game (against Aduana FC). We don’t have any excuse because my main objective is to win the league or the FA Cup—or even the double. So definitely, I have to work hard because we cannot afford to lose to Aduana,” he said.
Kotoko are expected to approach the fixture with urgency and intensity.
The clash also renews a fierce regional rivalry between the two sides.
Baba Yara Stadium will host the decisive encounter this weekend.
With only one path to progression, Kotoko know there is no margin for error.
