Karela Coach Amadu: “We’re Focused on Quality, Not Quantity” in Transfer Window

Karela United head coach Nurudeen Amadu has opened up on the difficulties of strengthening his squad during the current transfer window, emphasizing that any new signings must offer immediate improvement.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s league clash against Aduana FC, Amadu explained the challenges of recruiting quality players.

“So before the end of the registration period, we should have registered at least a few players,” he said. “But it’s always very difficult because the players you are looking at, you’re not even sure whether they can come.”

The coach stressed that new arrivals must be an upgrade over the current squad. “You are looking for players who will be better than what you already have. Some are good, but they are not better than what we have,” he explained.

Amadu also highlighted the complications of the local transfer market, where clubs are often reluctant to release top talent. “Any good player, even in the lower teams, they won’t give him to you unless there is a good relationship,” he said.

Despite the transfer hurdles, Karela have remained competitive on the pitch, losing only once in their last seven league matches. The coach credited squad stability for their form as they prepare for a tough away test in Dormaa.
