Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has sent a strong message ahead of the Super Eagles’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against hosts Morocco, insisting his side is “far from timid” as they chase a place in the final.

The Napoli forward was the standout performer in Nigeria’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria, scoring the opener with a thumping header before setting up Akor Adams for the second. His commanding display earned him the Man of the Match award.

Speaking to CAF after the game, Osimhen highlighted Nigeria’s preparation and collective resolve.

“We prepared well for this game, and I’m so happy about the team’s performance,” he said.
“Playing this type of team, we had to bring our A-game… we gave our everything, and we deserved to win.”

Turning his attention to Wednesday’s semi-final showdown on January 14, Osimhen acknowledged the quality of the Atlas Lions but made it clear Nigeria will not be overawed by the occasion.

“We are going to play against the hosts, and we know how they are; we know they have a lot of quality players,” he noted.
“But I don’t think we are the kind of team that is timid.”

Morocco booked their semi-final place with a 2-0 win over Cameroon, setting up a heavyweight clash between two of Africa’s most formidable sides.

With Osimhen in inspired form and confidence surging through the Super Eagles camp, Nigeria head into the encounter believing they have what it takes to silence the home crowd and reach the AFCON final.
