English-born Ghanaian youngster Darren Frimpong-Kwakye has taken a major step in his development after securing a scholarship deal with Luton Town.
The highly-rated teenager earned the contract after impressing during a trial in December 2025, catching the attention of the club’s academy staff with his performances.
Frimpong-Kwakye joined from men’s grassroots side FC Battersea Ironsides, where he featured prominently last season and gained valuable experience at youth level.
Luton Town Academy manager Paul Benson praised the youngster’s qualities and potential after offering him the scholarship.
“Darren impressed during a showcase game in the summer and after a successful trial was offered a scholarship with the academy,” Benson said. “Left-footed with great physical attributes, Darren can play across the front line or at left wing-back. Having never been in an academy before, Darren has high potential and we are delighted to continue working with him.”
