The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Richard Ofori Agyemang has openly called for the removal of Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito.
Zito was appointed permanent head coach in July after a successful interim spell that ended with Kotoko lifting the MTN FA Cup against Golden Kicks FC.
Despite that early promise, the Porcupine Warriors have struggled to find consistency in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Kotoko have recorded only one win in their last five league outings, raising concerns among sections of the club’s leadership and supporters.
“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over. For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach,” he told Akoma FM.
The comments add further pressure on Zito as Kotoko continue their push for domestic success amid growing scrutiny of the club’s technical direction
