Black Galaxies head coach Kasim Mingle Ocansey has voiced strong belief in his squad ahead of Ghana’s international friendly against South Africa, describing the match as a key test of character and quality.
The encounter offers the locally based national team a chance to measure themselves against a well-established African opponent.
Ocansey stressed that the fixture is part of a long-term process rather than a must-win affair.
According to the coach, the friendly provides an important platform for the Black Galaxies to showcase their development as they continue preparations for competitive assignments.
“This game is an opportunity for the Black Galaxies to prove that they are a very good side. I’m happy to have this friendly, but my team is not under any pressure. We believe in building, and that is exactly what I am doing,” he said.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, with kick-off set for 2:00 pm Ghana time.
South Africa will also use the fixture to fine-tune preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, where they are grouped with Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe.
For Ghana, the friendly forms part of their build-up to the CHAN qualifiers, as the technical team continues to assess options and shape a competitive squad.
