Asante Kotoko have been charged by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee following allegations that match officials were threatened and assaulted during their Matchday 12 fixture against Medeama SC.

According to the GFA, Kotoko failed to ensure the safety of the officials after allowing unauthorized persons into Zone 2 during halftime—an area strictly protected under the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Protocols. The intruders reportedly confronted and issued threats to the match officials before the second half commenced.

The club has been given until Wednesday, December 3 to submit its official response to the charges.

The incident occurred during a tense encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium, which ended in a 2–2 draw after Kotoko staged a dramatic late comeback to earn a point.
