PFAG to step in as Eleven Wonders players face salary challenges

The Professional Football Association of Ghana is preparing to meet with the players of Eleven Wonders amid growing concerns about their welfare.

The intervention follows revelations from former head coach J.E. Sarpong, who resigned after 20 days in charge.

Nii Odartey Lamptey, a former Ghana international and the club’s current coach, told Asempa FM that he has already alerted PFAG to the situation, calling for support to address the players’ challenges.

“I want to stay mute because I don’t want to create problems. After all, it is football that has made me who I am today,” Lamptey said.

“I went in there to help, but if I decide to talk, it will be more than what J.E. Sarpong said.”

“At the right time, PFAG will meet the players and discuss their welfare, so I don’t want to go deep into issues because I am hurt, and I decided to come into the game again just to help, but with what happened, I don’t want to talk about it. I just hope that PFAG will go to the aid of the players because, with what is happening, it is not the best.”

Eleven Wonders have struggled in the Ghana Premier League, remaining the only team without a win after 11 matches.

The club will seek their first victory when they host Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium in their Matchday 12 fixture.
