Mohammed Kudus is attracting renewed scrutiny after a flat showing in Tottenham Hotspur’s heavy defeat to Arsenal, with concerns growing over his ability to deliver consistently at the highest level.

The Ghana international, freshly recovered from injury, was thrust back into the starting lineup for the North London derby but struggled to leave his mark as Spurs fell 4–1 at the Emirates.

His muted performance reignited a familiar debate about whether the 25-year-old can maintain the sharpness and influence expected of a marquee signing.

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood added fuel to the discussion, noting that while Kudus carries undeniable flair and impact, the drop-offs in his performances remain a sticking point.

According to Sherwood, Kudus “energises the team whenever he’s on the pitch,” but still needs to sharpen the consistency that separates good players from truly elite ones.

Since arriving from West Ham in the summer, Kudus has shown flashes of brilliance and remains a trusted option under Ange Postecoglou.

His Premier League campaign so far includes one goal and four assists in 11 matches, production that hints at potential but falls short of the influence Spurs hoped he would exert weekly.

With expectations high and scrutiny intensifying, the coming weeks may determine whether Kudus can steady his form and reaffirm his status as one of Tottenham’s key attacking figures.
