Swedru All Blacks forward Rudolf Mensah says head coach Ahmed Ibrahim Fathi is transforming his game, turning him into a “hybrid striker” as the team shifts toward a more fluid tactical identity.
His comments followed All Blacks’ stunning 3-2 away win over Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium — their first road victory of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. Mensah, who scored twice and claimed the Man of the Match award, believes the team is beginning to embrace Fathi’s philosophy.
“When coach Ahmed Fathi came in, he’s trying his best to create a different type of football in Ghana,” Mensah said.
“He’s trying to create hybrid players; for me, he’s trying to create a hybrid striker in me. I can also be a midfielder, a defender, and a striker.”
His remarkable versatility having scored 27 goals in 30 games to help secure All Blacks’ promotion is now being expanded into a multi-positional role. Under Fathi, players are being encouraged to rotate positions and adapt to match situations, making the team less predictable and more tactically dynamic.
The win against Dreams FC has boosted confidence in the squad, and Mensah says it reinforces their belief in the direction the coach is taking.
As All Blacks build momentum, Mensah’s new hybrid role is expected to be central to their evolving style and survival in the top flight.
