Ghanaian coach C.K. Akonnor has been named the SportPesa League Coach of the Month for October 2025, guiding Gor Mahia to three straight wins in the Kenyan Premier League.
Akonnor’s impressive start to the season has seen Gor Mahia top the league table, with wins against KCB, Posta Rangers, and Mathare United.
The former Ghana national team coach credits his success to tactical flexibility, citing an Arsenal-inspired approach.
Akonnor, who took over as Gor Mahia head coach in August, has instilled confidence and discipline in the team, earning him the top spot among notable coaches like Fred Ambani of AFC Leopards and Charles Okere of Tusker.
He received a customized trophy and Ksh 75,000 for his achievement. Gor Mahia has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, going unbeaten in six consecutive league matches.
