Ghana’s U20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, have kicked off preparations in Accra for the second edition of the WAFU B U20 Girls Cup, scheduled to take place in Benin from November 7 to 17, 2025.

The team is currently training at the University of Ghana Stadium under head coach Charles Sampson and his technical team as they fine-tune tactics for the regional tournament.

The WAFU competition will also serve as vital preparation for Ghana’s third-round FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa in February 2026.

The Princesses will enter the tournament as defending champions, having clinched the maiden edition in 2023 after beating Nigeria 3-1 on penalties in Kumasi.

This year’s event will feature three participating nations and is expected to provide valuable exposure for Ghana’s emerging talents as they gear up for the global qualifying campaign.
