The battle for supremacy in the MTN Elite U19 Championship is heating up in Prampram, with Eastern Region and Greater Accra Region stamping their authority after another round of thrilling action on Matchday Two at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
In Group A, coach Godie Nana Mensah’s Eastern Region continued their flying start, edging Western Region 1–0 in a tense encounter to make it two wins from two.
Their sharp attack and resilient defending have now produced six goals while conceding just twice.
Brong Ahafo Region trail closely behind after announcing their presence with a commanding 5–0 demolition of Northern Region in their first game.
Northern now find themselves in third place with three points, while Western and Upper West remain winless at the bottom of the standings.
In Group B, Greater Accra Region kept their momentum going with another strong performance, overcoming Central Region 2–1 to maintain their perfect record and reinforce their status as early favourites.
Ashanti Region, who have played one game fewer, occupy second place with three points, while Volta Region’s slim victory over Upper East lifted them into third. Both Central and Upper East remain pointless after two rounds.
The MTN Elite U19 Championship, which runs from October 23 to November 2, 2025, brings together ten Regional Football Association (RFA) youth teams from across Ghana.
