FIFA Talent coach Stuart Yaw McLaren has lauded Ghana’s emerging female footballers after assessing their performances at the Elite Youth Regional Championship, describing the nation’s future in women’s football as “so, so bright.”

McLaren highlighted the technical and tactical quality on display, noting that he was impressed across all areas of play. “I’ve seen very competent goalkeepers, composed defenders, intelligent midfielders, and forwards with excellent 1v1 ability and finishing,” he said.

Beyond technical ability, McLaren emphasized the importance of attitude and desire. “The number one thing we need to look at is whether the player has a real passion and energy for the game,” he remarked.

He also called for more competitive platforms for young girls to develop through “best-vs-best” environments, which he believes are vital to accelerating progress.

“The future of Ghana women’s football is so, so bright,” McLaren concluded, urging continued investment and structured support for the country’s rising talents.
