Only three Nations have won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) – Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa – but Morocco are well and truly in track to make it four.
Backed by a raucous home crowd, the hosts brushed aside Mali 3-1 in their quarterfinal tie on Saturday night.
The team showcased their dominance and skill, with Ibtissam Jraidi scoring twice and Kenza Chapelle adding a late goal to seal the victory.
Despite a late consolation goal from Mali, Morocco’s performance was impressive, and they now await their next opponent.
