Salisu Mohammed’s Monaco seal champions league return with crucial win

AS Monaco, featuring Ghanaian defender Salisu Mohammed, have secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League after a crucial second-half surge powered them to victory in Ligue 1.

Goals from Takumi Minamino and Dennis Zakaria after the break handed Monaco the win they needed, confirming their place among Europe’s elite for the 2025/26 campaign against Olympique Lyonnais.

The result also cemented their spot in this season’s Champions League knockout stage ; a testament to the club’s resurgence under manager Adi Hütter.

Salisu, who has been a rock at the heart of Monaco’s defence since joining, played a vital role once again with a composed performance, helping the side maintain a clean sheet in a high-stakes fixture.

For the principality club, it marks a return to the continental stage and a chance to build on their impressive European campaign so far ; with Salisu poised to fly Ghana’s flag proudly on the grandest stage once again.

Yves Charles Ebonda has just informed us that he got a call from a United official on Friday enquiring about Adjei’s availability and what he would cost them. Ebonda, because he is in South Africa, represents Meir Rifman, who is a Fifa-licensed agent based in Israel, where Adjei used to play for FC Ashdod. Ebonda will be the go-between when negotiations start and says: “I called Rifman and he asked me to tell Maritzburg to tell us what they can afford.
