As Arsenal prepare for a pivotal Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes, Declan Rice has hailed the return of Thomas Partey as a game-changer.

The Gunners trail 1-0 from the first leg, but with Partey back from suspension, Rice believes the midfielder’s understated brilliance could tilt the tie in Arsenal’s favor.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the clash on Wednesday evening, Rice didn’t hold back in praising his teammate. “He allows me to be a better player,” Rice said. “He doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves. We will need a big performance from him tomorrow.”

Partey’s absence in the first leg was keenly felt. PSG’s midfield, led by the dynamic Vitinha and the ever-elusive Fabian Ruiz, dictated the tempo, leaving Rice to shoulder a heavier defensive burden.

Without Partey’s composure and tactical nous, Arsenal struggled to transition from defense to attack, a flaw that Ousmanne Dembele exploited to secure the hosts’ slender lead. But with the Ghanaian enforcer back, Arsenal’s engine room looks revitalized.

“Thomas is the kind of player who makes everyone around him better,” Rice continued. “He reads the game so well, breaks up play, and gives us that platform to push forward. I can’t wait to have him alongside me.”

Partey’s return comes at a critical juncture. Arsenal, chasing their first Champions League final appearance since 2006, face a PSG side brimming with confidence after their Ligue 1 title triumph.
