Chelsea eyeing two marquee signings in coming weeks

Chelsea owners look set to make a splash in the transfer market, just weeks after taking over from Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea announced on May 30 that: “The consortium led by Todd Boehly, chairman and CEO of Eldridge, and Clearlake Capital Group, L.P. (together with its affiliates, ‘Clearlake’), today announced completion of the ownership transfer of Chelsea Football Club (‘Chelsea FC” or “the Club’).”

Boehly and co. now face the task of rebuilding a side that had a pretty underwhelming 2021/22. Chelsea failed to win a single trophy and just about secured 3rd place in the Premier League.

They have also lost two senior central defenders in the form of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

Now, however, as mentioned above, Chelsea’s new owners look set to bring in some big names very soon.

As per the Sunday World, Chelsea’s new owners are preparing to start the club’s new era with a bang by making two marquee signings in the next few weeks.

It is added that whilst several Chelsea first-team stars are expected to leave the club this summer, profits from their exits will be ploughed back into an already healthy transfer kitty for Thomas Tuchel.

Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez are all of interest to the Blues:
